We were in an exceptionally nice location just a pleasant stroll away from Tuck Box. The service was very good...

Good location , nice courtyard....

Thought the upgrade to "Ocean view" room was a bad joke. Luxurious Frette Bedlinens don't mean much if the pillowcases are so worn that they had holes in them...Sad for the price............

Chocolate covered strawberries in our room upon arrival, we ordered them every day, they were delicious. Wonderful staff, great restaurant recommendations by the staff. The breakfast was great and we enjoyed the fresh cookies in the afternoon. Great attention to detail in the hotel rooms.

A bit noisy where there were guests above us. I would recommend staying on the top floor.

the restaurant was good for dinner, i tried excellent dishes. the location of the hotel was good - within walking distance of gallery by the sea carmel. boutiques and all the major shops were right next door.

Excellent staff, small, quiet, excellent beds.

Stay on the top floor. It is an older structure and you can hear the people walking around on the floor above you.

perfect central base for exploring art and parks

During our two-night stay, we really enjoyed the quick walks to both the Dawson Cole Fine Art Gallery, just a few steps away, and the beautiful Devendorf Park, just a bit over 1 km from our hotel, making our city strolls good and convenient.

The grounds were very tranquil--something we look for when we are on vacation. Frankly, the building structure itself seems very 50's in design and management/owner has done a fantastic job of transforming it into so much more than the building itself.

It is too bad that there wasn't a jacuzzi there--about the only "missing" element from the type of place that this is. Also, while not a dislike, it would have been nice to have been told about the fire pit operations upon check-in--we might have wanted to use it.

This hotel met expectation in every way, recommend. The property was unique and spotlessly clean with absolutely stunning views of the ocean. The beds were comfortable, the room was pet-friendly and top-notch. Really enjoyed a tub in my separate bathroom. Nice location, helpful staff with the same staff member. The hotel was 4-6 minutes walking distance from the heart of the Carmel-by-the-Sea.

The outdoor areas were perfect for our large breed dog, and the staff was super accommodating. The serene vibe of the hotel and the nearby walking trails made for great exploration, especially with the kids. Breakfast hampers were a good extra.

In my wife's opinion, a dedicated area for families to hang out would be great.

The rooms with chocolate covered strawberries and a jacuzzi tub, for instance, thoughtful staff with the same staff member. Magnificent location for enjoying restaurants and bars close to the hotel.

The staff at the Tradewinds were very accommodating. They were enthusiastic to hear about our vacation plans and happy to help with all details including dinner recommendations and reservations,etc. The rooms are beautifully appointed, immaculately clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. The Zen-inspired courtyard has lush plants and water features and made for a relaxing evening around the fire pit. We would recommend Tradewinds to anyone looking for an intimate and luxurious place to stay in Carmel.

We loved the breakfast delivered to our door, it was healthy and gave us a chance to relax in our room. The garden with beautiful fountains seemed like an oasis, and the cozy fireplace in our beautiful king room made evenings special. Plus, the staff was so warm and cute!

Sophisticated design with a fireplace, whirl tube and even a small fountain in a room. Nice garden, very good location

A little mistake in a system: the hotel had different booking dates rather what we were requested and confirmed by e-mail (happily resolved). Breakfast could have been a liitle bit more substantial, I would love at least a peice of cheese and a sausage

Couple's peaceful retreat

The staff were super friendly and they welcomed us with chocolate covered strawberries which reminded me of a nice touch.

It wasn't inexpensive but you know, worth it for the memories we made.
